Sam please tell me how you paint. Is it digital? What program(s) do you use? Painter IX? If so, what brushes do you use and how do you get such smooth gradients? I wan't to be a better painter but I don't understand how you do what you do. Any info or tips you could impart to me would help me immensely.

Cyree: It's all digital in Painter 9. I used to do a "Tip of the Week" feature on the blog, and maybe it's time to start that up again.
That rabbit looks poised and ready to pounce! The red glow on the top of him is a great touch.

Hi it's me bugging you again because you love it.
I read in an earlier blog something about how you were using the Ultrafine Wash brush ported over from Painter 6, it has "wash" in the name so I guessed it had to be a watercolor or digital watercolor brush but when I was messing with painter the other day trying to figure it out I couldn't get any brush/canvas combo that looked even slightly close to what you do (i mean besides the fact that my drawings suck but that is an entirely different problem).
Could you just give me a couple more hints? I am very DIY, and if I could figure it out myself I would.

That will give you something similar in effect. Another brush I use a lot is the oil pastels.

I'm a complete novice and can only dream to be this good, but just wanted to let you know how great your character designs are.
I'm just starting out on the $100,000 Animation Drawing Course, and it shows! If you get the time, maybe you could take a look at my efforts so far and give your opinion and any advice - I'd be very grateful.
